Calling all Golfers with Handicaps 15 and over

Prudhoe Golf Club Rabbits Team are looking to recruit new members for next season.

“Rabbits” golf is a great way to represent the club in competitive team golf.

The format is team based, consisting of eight players, playing Stableford format off the yellow tees, with the top seven scores counting.  Players with a handicap index of 15 to 28 can take part. Players with a handicap over 28 are welcome to join the team, but please be advised your handicap would be capped at 28 for all matches selected for.

There is one home game and seven away games per season, playing against clubs from all around the North-East.  Players pay their own green fees for away matches, usually about £15.00, and the squad of players is rotated to try and allow everyone to play at least three matches a season. The highest 2 scorers from the previous fixture will be automatically re-selected for the next match

This year we have been drawn in the yellow section and will play away matches at Bishop Auckland, Wearside, Roseberry Grange, South Moor, Richmond, Crook & Stocksfield.

The first fixture will be 26th April 25 and the final fixture 3rd August 25.

The highest individual scoring player (based on best 3 scores) of each club will go forward to represent their club at finals day, with this taking place at Romanby Golf Course, Northallerton on Sunday 14th September.

There is also a team finals competition on the same day. The composition of the team competition is made up of the top 2 teams from each section based on league position. 3 Players are selected to represent their respective teams on the day.

There will be a team meeting scheduled for late February / early March to discuss the upcoming season therefore we politely request any interested players register their interest NLT 21st February. This will allow the Captain/Vice-Captain to finalise numbers for the season ahead.

If you’re interested in joining the team for the coming season, please emails dickinsonsp83@gmail.com and the Rabbits team captain, Steve Dickinson will get back to you.
